I haven't posted here or anywhere for a long time for that matter. I'm here to tell you that I have recovered. I almost put this in quotes. I almost put an adjective in front to to lessen the impact of the statement or cast doubts into the minds of those who are reading this as to the actual level of recovery I have experienced. But I didn't because I'm better!
I no longer think about the injury much at all. I can go days without even thinking about it. I go to work, I enjoy my days and I have no complaints. None.
I had the epic burn for close to a year. For 7 months it was off the chart. Because of this I thought I was going to be a lifer for sure. So if you're out there and you feel that you're doomed to deal with this for life it may not be so.
I had cozied up to the lifers on Sciential and this probably wasn't the smartest thing for me to do. It was great for a couple of months then the harsh reality hit that this was going to be with me for a very long time. I was given good advice as to what vitamins to try but poor advice as to how to deal with medical professionals and lawyers. Also seeing individuals end their messages with "I'm 25 months into my ordeal" was too much for my weakened psyche.
Don't keep a pain journal as that will get you to fixate on the pain, don't waste all your money on the the advice of nameless faceless people who have no accountability to you.
Don't read the horror stories and pain poetry. This stuff brings me to tears. These are very damaged people who my heart goes out too, but in order to beat this you must try an deny the injury the ability to take all that you've worked so hard for, your hopes and your dreams. Try to dig your self out and rebuild your life, create a new one or do a bit of both.
If you have any questions about what I did to get better please feel free to ask. Trolls will not gain the satisfaction of having their comments posted.
